The New ‘Superman’ Theme Takes Flight In The Trailer Of James Gunn’s Reboot – Watch
The newly developed theme song for the iconic Man of Steel comes as a result of the latest collaboration between Gunn and Murphy, following what they accomplished for the third film in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy.

The latest trailer of James Gunn’s Superman reboot has finally arrived — giving us an extended preview of John Murphy and David Fleming’s theme song for the iconic Man of Steel.
In the newly released preview, Murphy’s theme soundtracks a vignette of scenes that highlight David Corenswet’s take on the character of Superman as he navigates his dual responsibilities as the beloved superhero and his human alias as Clark Kent. Other characters featured in the trailer include Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), Krypto the Super Dog, Hawkgirl (Isabella Merced), Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillon), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), and the ever-villainous Lex Luthor, portrayed by Nicholas Hoult.

The premise of the forthcoming Superman reboot focuses on the titular character’s journey to reconcile his alien heritage with his human family, while navigating his duty to save the world however way he can. Directed by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, Peacemaker, The Suicide Squad), the film serves as a soft reboot of Warner Bros. and DC Studios’ cinematic franchise, as they move past the DC Extended Universe and begin anew with the DC Universe.
Superman marks the first film entry in the latter, and is said to take heavy inspiration from the comic book All-Star Superman, which ran from 2005 until 2008, and was created by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, among others. The film also marks the latest collaboration between Gunn and Murphy, following several joint ventures over the past year.
Together with the release of the film’s trailer, Murphy and Fleming released the new Superman theme featured in the trailer across various streaming and digital platforms. The track is merely a teaser of what fans and cinephiles can expect until the full soundtrack releases later in July, which is set to coincide with the film’s release in cinemas in the Philippines beginning July 9, 2025.
