Having debuted only a year prior to the pandemic in 2019, mrld has experienced sporadic success.
The “Ligaya” hitmaker continues her ever-growing evolution in her debut album, 7th Sense. In her first-ever solo concert of the same name at the Sky Dome in Quezon City last Sunday (April 27, 2025), mrld described the full-length piece of work as an intimate deep dive into her inner thoughts — in her words, “Sharing a piece of [myself] started out as a quiet feeling, something I couldn’t explain until I wrote it down and sang it out.” She affirmed, “This is that part of me.”

It was as if the whole wrld showed up for mrld’s first solo concert, as the venue was filled with fans eager to get a glimpse of this new chapter of mrld’s evolution. Fans took it upon themselves to bring their own lightsticks to the dome, and some carried along congratulatory tarpaulins in true Filipino spirit. Nevertheless, those who couldn’t bring their own equipment to the venue were in luck, as the merchandise table was filled to the brim with special photocards, posters, t-shirts, and more.

Warming up the stage prior to the main event of the night was the first opening act, Healy After Dark, a Kapampangan band of youthful spirits that blazed through their set. As they rocked out in tandem to their dream pop-tinged tracks like “Isip” and “ikaw,” the band brought out an infectious raw energy that got everyone off their feet and jumping to the beat.

Following this were the Alphas of P-pop themselves, G22, who strut out in full suits for their fierce “Pa-Pa-Pa-Palaban” energy. Carrying over this electricity to their second and last track of the night, the group showcased their powerful performance with their popular song, “Boomerang.” In the intimate setting of the Sky Dome, their voices were reverberating off the walls even in moments the microphone didn’t catch it — a testament to their title as some of the strongest voices in P-pop today.

As the lights shut down and an introductory montage played, it became clear that it was time for the main character of the night to take the stage. As mrld emerged in a dazzling rhinestone-studded blazer to her hit, “M.I.N.O.Y.,” the joy in the air was palpable. With a bright grin seemingly permanently etched onto her face, the singer-songwriter serenaded the audience with an infectiously bright energy that one couldn’t help but smile as well.

This joy carried onto the audience as well, as wrlds rushed to the front of the stage, jumping and dancing along with each other. Catching onto all the festivities happening below the stage, mrld joined in on the fun and matched their energy, jiving along to their beat. With the intimate energy in the air, everyone in the venue could see that beyond the grandiosity of the production, the show at its core was a commemoration of mrld taking a step into her new chapter as an artist.

Emerging from the stage to celebrate this momentous event were fellow artists who also shared parts of mrld’s journey to success, as Ryannah J and mrld enchanted the audience with an R&B-tinged duet with an unreleased track, “Kundikaw.” On a similar wavelength, Adie joined mrld for a special performance of “Ikaw Pa Rin,” and lingered for a talking segment to share how the two experienced each other even in their beginnings as performers on the Internet — and went on to witness each other reach greater heights.

It was a wholesome night, to say the least, to witness mrld fully come into her own as she marked a new chapter with her debut album and first-ever solo concert. In tribute to her parents, who were enthusiastic participants of the audience — it marked their first time seeing their daughter perform live, after all — she sang “Dear You.” It was a heartwarming sight, as she couldn’t help but tear up as her parents watched her proudly from their seats in the audience, waving eagerly as they were displayed on the LED screen.

As the night wrapped up, it became clear that the 7th Sense experience was not simply watching mrld’s first-ever solo concert, but also being a part of something greater. It was as if everyone in that space became part of a big chapter of mrld’s coming of age as an artist, and witnessed firsthand a marker of success that would grow into something brighter in the future.
