As the NCTverse continues to expand, NCT’s Mark has finally released his long-anticipated first full-length album, entitled The Firstfruit. Comprising of 13 tracks with three exciting artist features, the album came out last April 7. Paired with this full-bodied drop is his music video for “1999,” which premiered on April 8.

The visualizer is fun and filled with elements nodding to the various cities he mentions throughout his work (Seoul, Vancouver, and more), and features special appearances from his fellow NCT members.

As a whole, Mark’s debut solo album stands as one of the most ambitious projects to come out of the NCT members’ solo work. It’s introspective, bold, and sonically, a testament to the K-pop idol’s versatility as a member of all three fixed sub-units of NCT: NCT U, NCT 127, and NCT Dream. Additionally, the album showcases his collaborative features with celebrated K-pop and Korean rap artists Lee Young Ji, Crush, and his fellow NCT member, Haechan.

Having grown up all across the globe, in the cities of Toronto, New York City, Vancouver, and Seoul, Mark takes listeners on a journey through his unique upbringing through The Firstfruit, which is appropriately sectioned into four parts, representing each city.
