A Complete Unknown, the critically acclaimed biographical music drama starring Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet as legendary folk singer Bob Dylan, will be available to stream on Disney+ starting March 27.

Directed by James Mangold (Logan, Walk The Line), A Complete Unknown offers an intimate portrayal of Bob Dylan’s transformative years in the early 1960s. Starring Timothée Chalamet in yet another stellar performance, the film captures Dylan’s evolution from a promising folk artist to a music and cultural icon.

It also highlights the key figures behind Dylan’s rise to prominence and helped shape his early sound, including folk musicians Woody Guthrie (Scoot McNairy), Joan Baez (Monica Barbaro), and Pete Seeger (Edward Norton). Moreover, the film delves into the controversy surrounding Dylan’s set at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, where his decision to record and perform with electric instruments caused a stir within the folk music community.

At the 97th Academy Awards, it garnered eight nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director for James Mangold, Best Actor for Chalamet, Best Supporting Actor for Norton, Best Supporting Actress for Monica Barbaro, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Sound, and Best Costume Design.

Although Chalamet did not take home an Oscar, his performance as the folk music icon was honored at the 31st Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, where he won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.

In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Chalamet reflected on his dedication to his craft, stating, “I can’t downplay the significance of this award because it means the most to me, and I know we’re in a subjective business, but the truth is I’m really in pursuit of greatness. I know people don’t usually talk like that, but I want to be one of the greats. I’m inspired by the greats.”
