Shakira Hospitalized, Postpones Concert in Peru
The Colombian pop star was rushed to the hospital due to concerns over abdominal pain.

Colombian singer Shakira canceled her Sunday concert in Lima, Peru, after being hospitalized with an abdominal issue, shortly after embarking on her first world tour in seven years.
In her post on X, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer shared that she had to go to the emergency room and remained under medical care, “I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized.” Her doctors advised that she was unfit to perform or continue the tour for now.
“I am very sad that to not be able to take the stage today. I’ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru,” she added. The singer was scheduled to perform in Peru on Sunday and Monday, the second stop in the Latin American leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. She kicked off her world tour with a two-night concert in Brazil last week.
However, she assured her fans in Peru that the concert would be rescheduled. “My plan is to perform this show as soon as possible. My team and the promoter are already working on a new date,” she said.
The Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour is in support of her twelfth studio album of the same name. The album received the Best Latin Pop Album award at the 2025 GRAMMY Awards.
Later this month, Shakira returns home to Colombia, then heads to Chile, Argentina, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Canada, and the United States for multiple shows until June.
