With a fresh taste of Orange & Lemons, this season of love got even sweeter.
Today (February 14), for a Valentine’s special, the veteran OPM band released a new single — an indie-pop rendition of the Carpenters’ classic serenade, “Close To You.” Giving the timeless love song a modern twist while retaining its emotional weight, this studio version of the band’s cover is an upgraded and more detailed production of their live version.
In an official press release, the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band, Clem Castro, explained the inspiration behind the track: “I was inspired to create a cover version for live gigs and challenged ourselves to integrate our own sound. It has been a staple since then on our set list. On top of that, I am a huge fan of Burt Bacharach.”
Additionally, the group is soon to embark on an international tour, making stops across the USA, Canada, and Singapore.
