Do you have what it takes to be the next Philippine K-pop star?

YG Entertainment — the powerhouse label behind global K-pop sensations like BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK — is ready to spotlight aspiring Filipino talents in a major way.

In an announcement shared on the label’s official social media pages, the agency revealed plans to host auditions here in the Philippines at ZERØ Studio in Quezon City this upcoming November 24, 2024. This opportunity is aimed at young talents and aspiring artists born between the years of 2006 and 2013, inviting them to take their first steps toward a potential K-pop career.

Participants will have the chance to showcase their skills in one specific category: vocal, rap, dance, or visual presentation. This focused approach allows candidates to shine in their area of expertise and stand out from YG’s talent scouts.

Those eager to audition can pre-register through the YG Audition website until November 10. Following this initial registration phase, only selected applicants will receive a confirmation email for the second round, which will be sent out on November 20. This streamlined process ensures that only the most promising talents will move forward in the audition journey.

Founded by Yang Hyun-suk, a former member of the iconic K-pop group Seo Taiji and Boys, YG Entertainment has a rich legacy of nurturing successful acts. The agency has been instrumental in shaping the K-pop landscape with artists like Akdong Musician, Winner, Treasure, and the recently debuted Babymonster. With this latest initiative, YG continues to broaden its search for global talent, reinforcing its commitment to discovering the next generation of stars.

In other YG Entertainment news, 2NE1 just recently made their comeback as a group and are currently embarking on a world tour to commemorate their reunion. The K-pop icons just performed their first ‘Welcome Back’ show at the Olympic Park, Olympic Hall, in Seoul, South Korea, wherein fellow idols and influential figures such as BLACKPINK’s Jennie, NewJeans, BIGBANG, Winner, iKON and BabyMonster, and others were present at the show. They are also scheduled to visit the Philippines later this November 16, 2024.
