AJAA is not your everyday P-pop group.
Recently having rung in their first year anniversary, rising P-Pop trailblazers AJAA have made waves with their fresh new sound. The four-member group debuted on under Cornerstone Entertainment September 7 last year with their EP, 4 Ü, which included popular tracks such as Torpe, Hany, and more. Confidently carving out their path in the industry with their youthful glow, the group represent the incoming generations of P-Pop.
The group is gearing up their dynamic and colorful performances for the Billboard Philippines: Mainstage, Billboard Philippines‘ grand one year anniversary celebration, this October. Joining them on stage will be fellow veterans of their genre, along with stars from every genre of OPM, for an unforgettable night celebrating Pinoy music in all its forms.
In anticipation of the event, Billboard Philippines had a conversation with AJAA on their inspirations within the industry, their love for performance, and more. In this exclusive interview, as well, the group prepare audiences for what to anticipate in their performances for this upcoming event.
Billboard Philippines: Who are some Filipino artists you think people need to pay more attention to and why?
There are a lot of Filipino artists na hindi nabibigyan ng spotlight and we think people really needs to give them more attention — groups like us, hehe. Madaming P-pop group na kaya mag-offer ng different kinds of flavors and if given the chance, they will surely take it and show what they can do!

What’s a Filipino album or song you keep going back to? What value and significance does it hold to you?
“Go Up” by SB19 is a song that holds a special place in our hearts since it is one of the iconic songs that opened many doors and gave us, aspiring idols at that time, the courage to pursue our dream of becoming an idol.
What do you love most about being an artist?
What we love the most about being an artist is that we get to express ourselves through music and through performing. Performing in front of people and giving them the same joy and excitement that we feel when we are performing gives us the feeling of validation. We, AJAA, love to spread positivity and joy through our songs and performances. Seeing and knowing that people enjoy our music makes us want to create more.
In line with Billboard Philippines celebrating their first year, what has been your favorite moment of the last year?
Our favorite moment last year was when we debuted as AJAA. Since we prepared for a year, showing to the whole world what we prepared for is like a dream come true. Performing as a group makes us feel whole.
Finally, what can your fans expect from your performance at Billboard Philippines: Mainstage?
We added a lot of spice and flavors while preparing for our Billboard Philippines: Mainstage performance. You can expect a lot and AJAA will surely do their best to bring smiles to your faces!
