Linkin Park just teamed up with League of Legends to release their new single.
On September 24, the nu-metal icons came out with a new song, entitled “Heavy Is The Crown.” It serves as the second single from their highly anticipated eighth studio album From Zero, following “The Emptiness Machine.” These two tracks mark their first releases since ending their seven-year hiatus and unveiling their new lineup, which now includes co-lead vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain.
For the first time, the band joined forces with Riot Games — the developers of popular competitive video games League of Legends and Valorant — to release the single, as it notably serves as the official theme song for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship. In a press statement, “Heavy Is The Crown” is described as “[kicking] into a high gear as an anthem equally appropriate for the high-octane multi-dimensional competition of League of Legends and music festival grounds worldwide.”
With this, alongside the song’s release, the band also released an accompanying music video.
From Zero is set to come out this November 15. Learn more about Linkin Park’s return and the new album here.
