Filipino metalcore band Valley Of Chrome recently released their latest single “Boses” (Voice) last February 16.

In an Instagram post made by the band on release day, Valley Of Chrome revealed that the song was a dedication to “all our fellow musicians and artists who keep the faith in creating and performing music.”. The band went on to write, “Sana huwag nating hayaan na humina at tuluyang mawala ang mga boses natin (May we not let our voices become weak nor completely disappear).”

The new single serves as a follow up to their song “Walang Takot” (No Fear), released last September 13, 2023. “Boses” is Valley Of Chrome’s first release since the start of their indefinite hiatus in January 2024. In an Instagram post made last December 29, 2023, the band revealed they would be taking a break for now as their vocalist Rogel Africa would soon be migrating to the United States. However, Valley Of Chrome stated that they see this as golden opportunity for more possibilities and gigs outside of the Philippines. The band also elaborated that they would still be working with Africa remotely in creating new songs, promising to update their fans regularly.

Valley Of Chrome’s final gig before their hiatus was last January 13 at Balcony Music House in Makati. This was for the release of a collaboration between DC SHOES and thrash metal icons Slayer. The band played with other heavy music acts SkyChurch, ORCA, Vie, and Arcadia who played one Slayer cover each.

Valley Of Chrome was formed on December 23, 2000. The band is also known for their songs “Pangako” (Promise), “Maskara” (Mask), and “Forever Young”. With a career spanning 23 years, the band has released a total of six studio albums (including a live album), the latest being Confront Thy Curse which was released last 2022.
