With that, here are the six nominees for this year’s Billboard Philippines Women in Music People’s Choice Award, who represent the women in the local music scene that
Ashtine Olviga
Dubbed “The Nation’s Mutya,” Ashtine Olviga is making a mark in the world of Philippine entertainment. Undoubtedly, 2025 was a stellar year for the rising singer-actress — from starring in the hit Viva One romantic-comedy series, Ang Mutya ng Section E, to slowly maintaining a steady presence in the local music scene, releasing the singles “Sa Panaginip Na Lang” and “Minamahal,” with the latter a duet with Mutya co-star and on-screen partner, Andres Muhlach.
Mika Salamanca
After her successful stint in Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, winning the reality competition alongside Brent Manalo and capturing the hearts of the Filipino masses, Mika Salamanca has proved that she is capable of doing more than one thing. From starting as a vlogger and influencer to entering the world of acting, she is now carving her own path in the local music scene. She started 2026 on a high note, releasing the single, “Kasalanan,” under Star Music Philippines.
BINI
When we talk about P-pop, it’s always a given that BINI will come to mind. The Nation’s Girl Group has cemented its status as a true powerhouse in the local music scene, hitting one milestone after another. With their recent releases like “First Luv,” “Paruparo,” and “Unang Kilig” solidifying their place in the local pop music scene, BINI have conquered the stage and airwaves, as well as sustaining their momentum with sold-out shows. Not to mention, 2026 is the year they make history as the first all‑Filipino pop group invited to perform at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Jikamarie
For Jikamarie, music definitely runs in the blood. She gained recognition in 2021 with her breakout single, “lutang.” This paved the way for even bigger opportunities. In 2024, she released her debut EP, L0VER G!RL, and opened for Coldplay during the Philippine leg of their ‘Music of the Spheres’ World Tour. Apart from releasing original songs, collaboration has also fueled her artistry, having teamed up with diverse local artists and acts, such as Sugarcane, Skusta Clee, and 1st.One.
Jolianne
With the release of her debut EP, Plain Girl, the rising R&B-pop star has already been unafraid to use the art form as a way to channel her personal reflections. Jolianne goes through the journey with her collection of songs that speak of the whirlwinds of growing up and her teenage years. She’s only getting started and working with the likes of Arthur Nery with “Palayo Sa Mundo” and with Dom Guyot with “aminin,” the Cebu-born singer-songwriter is slowly proving her place in the industry.
Janine Teñoso
In recent years, Janine Teñoso has been a mainstay in the world of OPM. After making waves as a hugotera and performing cover songs for Filipino films and shows, she has successfully stepped out of her comfort zone to write and perform more originals. In 2025, she successfully staged her first-ever, sold-out solo concert at the New Frontier Theater. With the easy path of fitting in the mold of what made her one of OPM’s brightest voices, Janine chooses to break barriers with her songwriting that showcases who she is as an artist and individual.
