Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is crowned the Woman of the Year at the third Billboard Philippines Women in Music event, held on March 24, 2026, at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater, BGC Arts Center.

In an interview with Billboard Philippines, the Asia’s Songbird opened up about being crowned Woman of the Year and expressing her gratitude for having an event such as this that recognizes the talented and influential women in the industry, saying, “This is a wonderful honor to be recognized like this amongst other women who are so deserving of the recognition that was given to them also. It’s always wonderful to be recognized, of course.”

“Thank you so much to Billboard Philippines for giving importance to women in music here in the Philippines. This award is very important to all of us […] parang binibigyan kami ng importansya as women in the music industry and it gives an extra boost also to someone like me who’s been in the industry for a long time. So this is an extra encouragement for someone like me,” she adds.

“And for the young ones also, being recognized for something that you love to do is a wonderful feeling. Parang nalelegitimize yung talent mo as an OPM artist, so that’s wonderful […] Keep dreaming and when you dream, dream big. Because that’s what it’s all about,” she concludes.
