Billboard Philippines Women in Music Rising Star Awardees BINI have graced the blue carpet at the first ever Billboard Philippines Women in Music Awards, held on March 22 at the Samsung Hall in SM Aura.
The P-pop group – comprising Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena – are taking the stage later today to perform the lead single off of their latest EP, Talaarawan, “Salamin, Salamin” (Mirror Mirror). They will join the event’s other performers and honorees of the night, including Sarah Geronimo, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Moira dela Torre, and Ena Mori.
When talking about what they’re most excited about, Aiah shared that the group was most excited to perform “Salamin, Salamin.” “We’re excited to meet everyone also.”
Maloi continued, “We really worked hard for this. Lahat ng pagod namin, lahat ng sacrifices namin, ito na ‘yun.“
As the first-ever Rising Star honorees, Jhoanna opened up about what the award meant to the eight-piece group. “Syempre, sobrang laking responsibility ito. Lalo na noong nakita namin yung list ng awardees, sobrang icon sila. Kami, we’re still starting. Sobrang laking opportunity nito for us. Kahit nandito na kami sa location, sobrang hindi namin makapaniwala.”
(Of course, this is such a big responsibility, especially when we saw the list of awardees. They’re all such icons, and us, we’re still starting. This is such a big opportunity for us. Even if we’re here at the location, we still can’t believe it.”
SB19 member Stell presented BINI with the award, saying, “Mula sa aming lima sa inyong walo, congratulations! (From us five to you eight, congratulations)!”
