Zild is finally back with new music.

On August 9, the “Medisina” hitmaker released his fourth album, entitled Superpower. “[S]obrang tagal ko naghintay para mapakinggan niyo ‘yung buong album. [M]alaking snapshot ‘to ng buhay ko. [L]abyu all. [M]araming salamat sa lahat ng nag-stay at naniniwala. (I waited a long time for you to listen to the whole album. This is a big snapshot of my life. Love you all. Thank you so much to all those who stayed and believed).”

He initially announced its release last June 27, stating, “[S]obrang excited na ako na marinig niyo mga bago kong kuwento at kung sino ako ngayon. [S]alamat sa mga naghintay. [N]akakakaba pero nakaka-excite. [A]raw-araw na magpapasalamat. [L]abyu all. (I’m so excited for you to hear my new stories and who I am now. Thank you to those who waited. It’s nerve-wracking but exciting. Everyday I’m thankful. Love you all).” He revealed the album’s tracklist last July 17.

Superpower sees Zild explore a variety of rock genres that exploded in the ’90s and early 2000s, including grunge, alternative rock, and even shoegaze, while maintaining the familiar, nostalgic quality as well as uniquely relatable lyrics his music has become known for.

Prior to the album’s release, the “Kyusi” singer-songwriter put out two singles: “Segurista,” released last June 20, and “Lia,” released last July 10. Superpower serves as the full-length follow-up to the widely acclaimed Medisina — Zild’s third album overall, released last October 28, 2022.
