Yungblud is back with a new single, entitled “Zombie,” and a special music video to go along with it. The English alternative rock singer-songwriter released both on May 30, 2025. Dedicated to nurses, the music video notably stars Oscar-nominated English actress Florence Pugh (Little Women, Midsommar, Thunderbolts).
“We wanted to spotlight true heroes that we take for granted every day. Thank you for all that you do everyday,” stated Yungblud in an Instagram post. “The amount of kindness and love that has been created so quickly is exactly what we want to achieve. Keep going, keep sharing, keep spreading it. Love will inevitably save us all.”
“I believe in everything [Yungblud] stands for and am absolutely inspired by how he uses his art and his voice,” said Pugh in an Instagram post of her own, noting how being part of the project felt “surreal” to her. In addition to this, she revealed that she and Yungblud had “been trying to find something to work together on for a while” now, so when the “cotton candy” singer asked her if she wanted to do the music video for “Zombie,” they found a way to make it work despite their busy schedules.

In the music video, Pugh plays a nurse who goes through the different challenges that come with job, both in aiding different kinds of patients as well as the often unseen emotional weight that comes with doing so. “I haven’t known him for long but I’m just so proud of this beautiful British talent. Thank you for having me on your journey and thank you for making this love letter to nurses all around,” further stated Pugh. “What a privilege it is to make epic things, with epic people for great reasons.”
Adding to this, Yungblud revealed that the music video was done with Pugh in just one day, with Yungblud expressing his gratitude and commending her performance. “[Florence Pugh], thank you for coming out in probably one of the the busiest times of your life and delivering a performance of such depth and truth. To see you throw yourself into this and turn it on like that in one day truly blew my mind. You’re a legend.”
“Zombie” serves as Yungblud’s third release of the year and third single from his upcoming fourth studio album Idols, which is set to come out on June 20, 2025 (Friday). The brand-new song follows “Hello Heaven, Hello,” released last March 18, 2025; and “Lovesick Lullaby,” released last April 25, 2025.
