We Are Imaginary are finally releasing their second full-length album.

Two years in the making, the self-titled brand new record from the Manila-based indie rock band is set to come out on January 9, 2026 (Friday). In a Facebook post, the band revealed that the conceptualization and recording of the album began in mid-2023, ended in September 2024, before adding one more song in July 2025. Alongside members and siblings Ahmad Tanji on vocals and guitars and Khalid Tanji on guitars, the album features the participation of former longtime bassist Vhall Bugtong, as well as drumming from Jerros Dolino (Megumi Acorda, spacedog spacecat).

The upcoming record was preceded by the release of three singles: “Pinkish Hue” in 2024, as well as “Stockholm” and “Object Of My Affliction” in 2025. Notably, We Are Imaginary follows the band’s EP Swan Songs For Drifters, which came out in 2023, as well as their debut album Death to Romanticism, which was released in 2016.

Additionally, the album is set to come out on vinyl sometime this 2026, courtesy of Eikon Records, with each one priced at PHP 2,500. Those interested in ordering the album on vinyl may now pre-order via messaging Eikon Records on Facebook.

In other news, We Are Imaginary have revealed last year that the Tanji brothers will now be officially joined by John Jason Rodriguez on drums, as well as other new members that they “will announce soon in a few months.”
