A number of Vispop heavyweights will be performing at a year-end fundraising gig for fellow Vispop singer-songwriter Lourdes Maglinte.

Maglinte, who also performs under the mononym Lourdes, announced last November 12 that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has garnered a number of accolades at the Vispop Music Festival, starting from when her song “Buwag Balik” (Break Up, Get Back Together) won the Grand Prize at Vispop 3.0.

The year-end benefit gig will happen on December 20 (Wednesday) at Draft Punk Craft Cafe. Those performing alongside Lourdes at the event are all Vispop alums, including Kurt Fick, Jerika Teodorico, Mary Anchit, Vincent Eco, and The Wonggoys. A pre-event organized by creative collective Tapok will happen on December 9 at Cebu Making Space. More details on both events have yet to be released. In the Instagram video announcing her diagnosis, the singer-songwriter shared that she was officially diagnosed in October of this year.

“I’m confident that I will beat this,” she says, after giving updates on the process of finding out about her cancer. She is currently undergoing treatment for the cancer and documents her journey on her social media pages.
