Last week, the singer released her first EP, talking back to the wind, since the premiere of her full-length album Forest In The City in 2022. talking back to the wind was co-produced by BTS member V, who collaborated with her on her previous single, “wherever u r.” She had previously shared on Instagram live that she wasn’t aware that V was set to undergo his mandatory military service during the time they were recording the collaboration. The song was then released on the South Korean idol’s birthday last year.
In an Instagram post celebrating the release of the EP, she wrote, “[W]hen [I] am confused about life – [I] go outside and talk to the wind. [A]ll the songs on this project feel like the wind to me. [T]hey give me the same feeling of peace & clarity. [I] trust it will do the same for you.”
UMI is best known for her songs “Love Affair,” “Remember Me,” “Butterfly,” and “wherever u r.”
