The full lineup of the Jaded’s South by Southwest Music Festival (SXSW) 2024 showcase has been revealed.
Titled FRIENDS:FOREVER the two-day showcase will be headlined by Vietnamese-American singer-songwriter Thuy and South Korean indie rock trio Se So Neon. Other artists on the lineup include Rei Ami, Audrey Nuna, as well as Indonesian band Reality Club, Singaporean outfit Subsonic Eye, Malaysia’s Shelhiel, South Korean artist Su Lee and more.
FRIENDS:FOREVER is the largest Asian-centric music even at the esteemed SXSW festival. It will be held on March 14 to 15 at the Empire Control Room & Garage in Austin, Texas. In a press statement, Jaded shared that the lineup “features over 40 of the best emerging and independent artists from across Asia and the diaspora.”
Last year, the Asian-owned entertainment company staged Tiger Den, the first full-day event in SXSW history to exclusively feature artists from across Asia and the diaspora. It was headlined by the award-winning K-Pop collective Balming Tiger.
”FRIENDS:FOREVER is a celebration of youth and connection through the shared love of music. We are proud to present a new generation of artists who are changing the global music landscape, and who are breaking cultural barriers with their creativity and talent,” shared Jing Wang, the founder and CEO of Jaded.
Faiz Saripudin of Reality Club went on to share that they are excited to represent not just Indonesia, but Southeast Asia at SXSW. “Our style of music is quite varied and we dabble in different genres, so we’re sure we’ll take you guys for quite a ride. We’re looking forward to having a ball, making new friends, and just celebrating music.”
The members of Subsonic Eye continued, saying that, “It’s cool that even though the main source of inspiration for most bands based in Asia is the stuff from the West, we’ve found a way to vernacularize it and make it our own. So stoked that thanks to the likes of Jaded, we’ve got opportunities to show what we got.”
