The Itchyworms are heading back to Japan next year.

On October 5, the veteran rock band officially announced that they will be heading back to Japan to perform in Tokyo in January 2025, joining forces with Japan-based Filipino live music production house Pintig Productions. More details such as exact dates, venues, and ticketing have yet to be announced. Watch this space for updates.

The Itchyworms previously performed in Japan last October 2023, doing one show in Kyoto and two shows in Osaka. “Japanese people think very highly of artists: musicians, visual artists, poets, dancers, singers, etc.,” frontman Jugs Jugueta shared to Billboard Philippines following the three-show tour. “ I think they appreciate music differently from how Filipinos appreciate music. I think we’re so lucky to have this opportunity to share our music and Filipino music and culture with them.” The tour marked the band’s second time performing in the country, following their appearance at the Tokyo Beyond Festival last November 2022.

The Itchyworms’ return to Japan will be part of their on-going ‘Akin Ka Na Lang’ tour, with the band embarking on the Canada leg this November. It will include stops in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto, and will be the last shows for multi-instrumentalist Mikey Amistoso, who will be moving to the country after the tour.
