Tarsius are back with a new single.
On February 12. 2025 (Wednesday), the indie electronic duo — composed of Diego Mapa on synths and samplers and Jay Gapasin on drums — released a new song, entitled “Vagabond,” exclusively on Bandcamp. According to a social media post announcing the track’s release, “Vagabond.” is described as exploring “cut-up vocals and reverse ambient samples over a garage beat” which has resulted in “probably one of Tarsius’ most uplifting grooves in it’s [sic] catalogue, worthy of loosening up your summer bones.”
“Vagabond” serves as the follow-up to “Spectrum,” released by the band last April 5, 2024. The new track notably serves as part of a forthcoming EP from the “Maskara” creators, due for release sometime this 2025.
In other news, Tarsius was part of the two-night Bottle City 2025: Hunter Moves Night gigs in Cebu as part of the 2025 Sinulog celebrations. They shared the stage with Party Pace and The Diegos, as well as Cebu bands Mandaue Nights, Sheila and the Insects, Coloura, and more.
