R&B sensation SZA has just released a surprise single, titled “Saturn”, available now on all digital platforms.
The track was first teased during a MasterCard commercial aired during the Grammys broadcast and was eventually showcased in its full-length through an online-only Grammys performance. But today (February 23, 2024), the track was released alongside several varying renditions of it –– including acapella, live, instrumental, and sped-up versions.
Last 2023, SZA embarked on a worldwide tour in support of the release of SOS, which marked her second tour and first arena tour in her career. The in-demand showcase spanned 76 shows across North America and Europe, and featured artists like Omar Apollo, Raye, and D4vd as the opening acts across each leg of the tour. Throughout each show, nautical elements, such as water, were utilized as the recurring themes for both the visual and performance elements of the tour –– echoing the record’s cover art by Daniel Sannwald.
Just recently, SZA won three Grammys at this year’s show –– including a win for Best Progressive R&B Album for SOS. According to sources, “Saturn” will reportedly appear in the upcoming deluxe version of her critically acclaimed, award-winning sophomore album SOS, titled LANA. Though no further details such as a release date have yet to be revealed, the “Snooze” hitmaker revealed six variations of the deluxe edition’s cover artwork during the first anniversary of SOS‘ release.
