Sugarcane have released their first full body of work with their debut extended-play, titled Memory.

According to an official press statement, the upcoming record is said to delve deeper into the multifaceted nature of love, exploring the highs, lows, and everything in between, especially as it moves “seamlessly between tender, introspective ballads and vibrant, upbeat arrangements.” Thematically, the EP tackles the remnants of failed relationships, the intimacy of true connections, and the haunting pull of unresolved feelings — themes that the band notes as very relatable to their experiences.

“As our debut EP and body of work, Memory really holds a special place in our hearts. Never namin nakita sarili namin na we will still be doing music up to this day, since our music journey started as a hobby lang talaga,” the band expressed in their statement. “As our first EP, sobrang naging challenge ‘to sa nakagawian naming single releases, nasubok yung musical skills namin as a band, pero more importantly mas naging matibay yung relationship and friendship namin sa isa’t isa. Proud kami sa kinalabasan nung EP, and super thankful kami sa lahat ng naging bahagi ng EP na to,” they continued.

Earlier this year, Sugarcane released the singles “Please” and “Tanging Ikaw” — the latter of which was re-released with a special “harana” rendition. Both of the tracks are also included in the EP’s track list, alongside their singles from last year, “Lagi Na Lang” and “Pagbigyan.”

Memory also includes a special collaboration with beloved folk pop band, The Ridleys, on the record’s title track, with the latter set to also appear as special guests for Sugarcane’s EP launch event, titled Hugot Hangouts, that is scheduled to take place tomorrow (November 21, 2025) at Soundcheck Studios in Pasig City. Also set to appear at the event is Quite Natural, with tickets to the show still available for free on a first-come, first-served basis.
