Ahead of the opening of The Wildworld Tour, KATSEYE‘s Filipina member Sophia Laforteza has announced that she will continue her hiatus and sit out the group’s upcoming European dates.

In a shared announcement via Weverse on August 30, 2026, HYBE and Geffen Records confirmed that the global girl group’s leader will not participate in the European leg of The Wildworld Tour, which runs from September 1 to 17, 2026.

Sophia also took to her Instagram to address the news in a personal statement dedicated to the group’s fandom, EYEKONS. “When I show up for you, I want you to get the best version of me. I’ve been in ongoing treatment and doing everything I can to stay healthy, occupied, and happy. You can’t pour from an empty cup. It’s important to care for yourself,” she wrote.

The KATSEYE member also reassured fans that she is receiving support from the company and her fellow members as she takes time to recover.

The announcement follows Sophia’s initial hiatus, which was announced on August 7, 2026, as she paused her promotional activities to focus on her health and well-being. She becomes the second member of KATSEYE to take a hiatus, following Swiss-Ghanaian member Manon Bannerman, who has been on temporary hiatus since February 2026.

The remaining members — Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Yoonchae Jeong, and Megan Skiendiel, who is currently recovering from an ankle injury — will proceed with The Wildworld Tour, which kicks off in Dublin, Ireland on September 1, 2026.

Other European stops that Sophia will miss include London, Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, Antwerp, and Copenhagen, before the group heads to North America for the next leg of the tour.

In related news, KATSEYE recently withdrew from Olivia Rodrigo‘s Daisy Chain Fields Festival due to the members’ health concerns.
