PABLO is looking for the light amidst the dark in his latest single, titled “Liwanag Sa Dilim.”
Originally written by Rico Blanco and recorded by Rivermaya, this newly released cover was produced by ABS-CBN’s Jonathan Manalo and showcases the SB19 leader’s powerful vocals (and even his signature howl) as he sings along to an impactful, tropical-infused beat that serves as another welcome entry into his growing solo discography. It’s a refreshing take on a Filipino classic, yet PABLO still manages to make it its own thing, albeit more cinematic this time around.
“Liwanag Sa Dilim” serves as the theme song to the ongoing Netflix original series, Incognito, which features a leading cast comprising Richard Gutierrez, Daniel Padilla, Ian Veneracion, Maris Racal, Kaila Estrada, and Anthony Jennings. The show recently premiered on the streaming platform last January 20, 2025, and has consistently retained a spot within the Top 10 streaming programs in the Philippines.
In other music-related news, PABLO is set to join his fellow members Stell, Justin, Josh, and Ken (aka FELIP) for their upcoming comeback EP, titled Simula at Wakas. The first single from the project is scheduled to be released on February 28, while the EP itself will drop on April 25. In line with their new era, the group is also set to embark on a tour beginning this May 31.
The upcoming EP follows their 2023 breakthrough, PAGTATAG!, as well as their set of collaboration singles dropped over the past year, which include “Kalakal” with Gloc-9, “MOONLIGHT” with Terry Zhong and Ian Asher, and “Ready” with the Black Eyed Peas’ Apl.de.Ap.
2024 also saw PABLO releasing his first set of solo albums, ALON and LAON, which dropped just one week apart last September. The records spawned the hit singles “Butata,” “Drowning in the Water,, and “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.” He also released his first-ever short film with UNA, which Billboard Philippines described as “our first glimpse of the group’s pinuno behind the mask” given that “the new medium offers a different kind of storytelling from the P-pop icon.”
