After months of anticipation, SB19 have finally released their latest extended play, Simula At Wakas.

The highly anticipated seven-track record has hit streaming and digital platforms worldwide today (April 25, 2025), giving listeners and A’TINs a glimpse of the P-pop group’s ever-evolving artistry –– both musically and personally. “It’s our way of saying thank you and showing how much we’ve evolved,” said the Kings of P-pop in an official statement. “Simula at Wakas encapsulates everything we’ve been through: the struggles, the growth, the milestones. We hope it speaks not only to those who’ve been with us from the start but also welcomes new listeners into our world.”

“It’s both a celebration of our journey so far and a declaration of what’s to come. We’re the same group as when we started. It’s just that we’ve matured, evolved, and grown into artists who are more confident in our voice and purpose,” adds the group.

As one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year, Simula At Wakas marks the conclusion to the group’s trilogy of EPs that began with 2021’s Pagsibol and 2023’s PAGTATAG! It chronicles their journey within the scene, the newly released record gives viewers a glimpse of their forward-thinking direction –– experimenting with a variety of sounds, genres, and emotions –– while also tackling the ever-resonant themes of closure and renewal, seen through their experiences as individuals who deal with the struggles that come with fame, pressure, and identity.

Produced by SB19 alongside an impressive pool of local and international collaborators such as Xerxes Bakker, Alawn, August Rigo, Simon Servida, and Josue (RADKIDZ), the newly released record heavily involves all five members of the P-pop icons –– allowing them to contribute significantly to the messaging of each track, and how each aspect of the EP’s visuals came along.

“We held meetings almost every day to carefully discuss how each song would come together, from conceptualizing and message to planning how we could execute and promote the EP in ways we’ve never done before,” says SB19. “This is the first time after how many years that every member has been this hands-on. Everyone was involved in conceptualizing, producing, and writing the songs. But we also owe a lot to our collaborators who helped us push our ideas further and elevate the project on both the technical and creative sides.”

Aside from the significance of their chart-topping hit single “DAM”, Simula At Wakas also features other key tracks –– such as the maximalist (and somewhat techno, hyper-pop infused) “DUNGKA!”, as well as the sentimental, anthemic ballad “Time.” The latter is something that particularly stands out for the group, as they state, “Hindi naman kami forever SB19.” “Nothing is permanent in this world, even from where we are at this point. Time will run out soon. All we can do is try our best and make the most out it.”

With a striking cover artwork of a giant tree, SB19 explain its significance as a reflection of their journey on the scene. “A tree, by nature, reflects life’s different stages, starting from a seed, growing roots, eventually branching out and bearing. That aligns with the message of “DAM” and the EP as a whole: acknowledging where we began, embracing how we’ve evolved, and looking ahead to what’s next.”

Following the release of Simula At Wakas, SB19 aren’t stopping anytime soon –– as they’re set to kick off their world tour of the same name with two major shows at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, with dates scheduled for May 31 and June 1, 2025. The tour is set to make its way across the United States, Canada, Singapore, and the Middle East from June to October this year, with additional stops in Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong soon to be announced.

“We’ve been working on new arrangements for some of our songs, and we’re really excited for fans to hear them,” the group shares. “We’ll be performing tracks from our latest EP, Simula at Wakas, and we can’t wait to share the energy and emotion behind each song. Every performance has been thoughtfully prepared, and we’re really looking forward to seeing how our fans react to these new versions of our music. Each day will be a different experience!,” the group concludes.
