The BRIT Awards are almost here!

The annual music awards — that recognizes recognizes the best of the British and international music industry — is returning on March 1 (March 2 Philippine Time) at The O2 Arena in London. Hosted by English comedian Jack Whitehall, the night is set to see the attendance of the music industry’s most notable acts, as well as a thrilling lineup of performers.

Fresh off her performance at the GRAMMYs, Sabrina Carpenter is about to stun the stage once again. Aside from her performance, Carpenter will be awarded the Global Success trophy at the ceremony. She will become the first international artist to receive the award after the BRITs Committee decided to open the award to international artists.

Carpenter joins the list of previously announced performers such as The Last Dinner Party, JADE, Teddy Swims, Shaboozey, and Myles Smith.

British indie rock band The Last Dinner Party had a very productive 2024, releasing their debut studio album, Prelude to Ecstasy, featuring new indie rock anthems such as “Nothing Matters” and “Sinner.” The band also covered the Sparks song “This Town Ain’t Big Enough for Both of Us” for Prelude to Ecstasy: Acoustics and Covers, along with five live and acoustic versions of songs and four cover songs.

Meanwhile, JADE continues to make waves with her solo career after Little Mix’s indefinite hiatus. The “It Girl” hitmaker shared the news last January citing her upcoming performance as a dream come true, “It’s a dream come true! To finally get to perform on a huge stage [with a] big performance of one of my solo songs is just so incredible. Thank you so much to the fans!”

Rising American singer-songwriter and rapper Teddy Swims is ready to “Lose Control” once again after his powerful performance at the GRAMMYs.The first-time performer is having a breakthrough year, bolstered by his hit single from his debut studio album, I’ve Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1). The song is nominated for International Song of the Year. Fellow International Song of the Year nominee for “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”, Shaboozey, is ready to take the stage at the BRIT Awards for the first time.

Furthermore, Myles Smith is expected to blow audiences away with his top-five single “Stargazing.” The British singer-songwriter also received the prestigious BRITs Rising Star Award.

Among the nominees, one of 2024’s biggest chart-toppers, Charli XCX, leads with five nominations for British Album of the Year for Brat, Song of the Year for “Guess” featuring Billie Eilish, British Artist of the Year, Best Pop Act, and Best Dance Act. Dua Lipa closes in with four nominations, along with The Last Dinner Party and British jazz quintet Ezra Collective. The Beatles also received their first Brit nomination since 1977 with their last song ever, “Now And Then.”

The BRIT Awards or the Brits is the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards first held in 1977. The awards ceremony recognizes the best of British and international music.
