Rosé has just released her long-awaited debut album rosie.
On the album, the BLACKPINK member gets candid about her experiences in love and life, showcasing an entirely new side of her that the world has never seen before. Given the record’s confessional lyricism, several tracks on the record exemplify how Rosé’s pen game perfectly captures the vulnerable nature of one’s experiences with love, even at its most messy and embarrassing moments. Yet even at its most devastating points, the album is still backed by soundscapes that traverse through the genres of alternative pop, pop-punk, and more traditional ballads, giving it a varied set of sounds that are worth diving into repeatedly.
Together with the album’s release, Rosé also dropped another music video to the record’s third single, “toxic ’til the end,” which co-stars Filipino-American actor Evan Mock. Directed by Ramez Silyan, the newly-released cinematic visualizer showcases both parties engaging in a ‘will-they-or- won’t-they’ situation that perfectly fits the lyrics of the track. Check it out below:
As her first record under Atlantic Records, rosie is comprised of twelve tracks, including the previously released singles “number one girl” and the chart-topping “APT.” featuring Bruno Mars. A bonus thirteenth track, titled “vampirehollie,” is included as an exclusive addition to certain physical media formats (such as vinyl and CD) of the album.
ROSÉ currently has two entries charting on the Billboard Philippines’ Hot 100 chart, which include “number one girl” at No. 28, and “APT.” which spends its sixth week at the No. 1 spot of the chart. Her fellow BLACKPINK members LISA and JENNIE also occupy entries on the chart, with LISA‘s “Moonlit Floor” ranking at No. 20, and JENNIE‘s “Mantra” positioning itself at No. 27.
Last 2021, Rosé made her solo debut with the mini-album R, which was released under YG Entertainment. The project spawned the hit singles “On The Ground” and “Gone,” while BLACKPINK’s sophomore album release, BORN PINK, saw her singing a solo track on the record, “Hard To Love.” She and her fellow BLACKPINK members are scheduled to make a comeback next year and will embark on a world tour in the later months of 2025.
