Red Horse Beer Pambansang Muziklaban is officially back for its 2025 iteration.
First held in 1999, the annual battle-of-the-bands competition by San Miguel Brewery is renowned for being one of longest-running and biggest music competitions in the Philippines, often particularly focusing on rock, heavy metal, and other similar forms of music. Since its first edition, the event has been recognized as being “a launchpad for aspiring artists,” as well as “providing a platform for original Filipino music” while “helping shape some of the most recognized names in the industry.”
Notable acts who have won or have participated in the competition over the years include the likes of Mayonnaise, Join The Club, EVEN, David Vs. Goliath, Manila Under Fire, Insekto Pares, Shotgun Combo, Redeemed By The Blood, Sucketseven, Happy Three Friends, and more.
As Red Horse Beer Pambansang Muziklaban returns this 2025, bands from all across the Philippines are eligible. Chosen participants are expected to “not only gain exposure and experience but also the chance to play in front of passionate crowds and alongside established artists who once stood where they are now.”
The competition is set to be held across multiple stages, which includes “online screening to live eliminations” with a panel of judges from the music scene, the semi-final rounds, and the grand finals where the top participants will battle it out to be crowned the Pambansang Muziklaban 2025 Champion. The winners are set to given “prizes,” multiple “performance opportunities, and a place in Pambansang Muziklaban’s legendary roster of
champions.”
