The original Fancy That mixtape dropped earlier this May 9, and was met with critical and commercial acclaim worldwide –– debuting at No. 3 on the UK Albums Chart and at No. 72 on the Billboard 200 chart. The record spawned a total of nine tracks, including the viral hit singles “Illegal,” “Tonight,” and “Stateside.”

Earlier this August, she collaborated with Yves on the single, “Soap,” from the latter’s third mini-album Soft Error. In an exclusive interview with Billboard Philippines, the K-pop star described how their partnership came about, attributing its origins to their respective groups of fans. “When I was promoting for I Did, I told the fans that I was a fan of her music. And then some of the fans went to the PinkPantheress fan meeting and said, ‘Yves is your fan!’ So that was what opened that bridge, and from there we connected and started working on the song together,” Yves mentioned.
