OZO have released their debut EP, entitled That, I Know. It came out on May 23, 2025 (Friday), featuring a total of six tracks, from the electropop-infused alternative rock band.
“Having been a band (and a family) over the past two years uncovered many new truths for us, and our creative voice matured in parallel with our personal growth,” stated the band on their social media, describing the EP as “a testimony of how authenticity is [their] highest priority in music, especially amidst change.” “This extended play reflects the band’s dedication to moving forward, treating each experience as a thread weaving into a greater tapestry. All that we’re hoping for is that this project speaks to you the same way it does to us.”
That, I Know was preceded by the single “Don’t You Worry,” which came out on May 9, 2025. It served as the band’s first release since officially rebranding into a band last March 2025 after being a solo project of vocalist and guitarist Oz Kabuhat. Prior to this change, the band released a total of four songs all under Kabuhat’s name, including 2023’s “I Would” and “Get Help, Find God,” as well as 2024’s “Angel” and “Her.”
Upon the release of That, I Know, Kabuhat shared the story behind the EP’s fifth track “Carefully,” revealing that it was inspired by his grandmother who is battling dementia. “And, while she’s okay now, I’ve been preparing myself for when that day actually comes because it’s very near. I know I’ll do well — she raised me, so I’ll simply be exactly how she always thought of me,” he stated, dedicating the song and the entire EP to her. “I know for a fact that i’ll remember her in almost every pretty thing that would come my way, and even without such reminders, i’ll make sure i remember her every single time, ever so carefully.”
“My band’s debut EP is really only about life and the highs and lows of it all; love and loss,” continued Kabuhat, noting how the entire project was inspired by “just real and familiar experiences. “So if this project tosses you around emotionally, then that’s exactly how [you’re] supposed to feel. I guess that’s life.”
OZO are set to celebrate the release of That, I Know with a special launch gig. It is set to happen this May 30, 2025 (Friday) at JBA (Justin Bella Alonte) Studio in Makati City. The band will be sharing the stage with special guests Lumi, Cheats, and Popmoney Worldwide, alongside Hijo and Kadiliman with back-to-back DJ sets. Tickets to the show are priced at PHP 450 (pre-sale) and PHP 500 (walk-in) and can be availed here.
In other news, Oz Kabuhat recently teamed up with fellow indie musician RAKI for a collaboration single, entitled “Running.” It was released on April 11.
