Over October are back with the release of their first single of 2026, “Manatili,” a track capturing the yearning for a moment to last forever and serving as a plea to hold on to that feeling.
The track is about moments you want to revel in forever, inspired by the feeling of wanting to hold on even as all good things eventually come to an end. As a new anthem for yearning for someone you are together with and will eventually part ways with, the song depicts two people embracing their last bittersweet moment before saying goodbye.
“Manatili,” which, when translated into Filipino, means “to stay,” speaks of the desire to freeze time, the lingering feeling of staying together, and the inevitability of parting ways. The “Ikot” hitmakers have captured this signature songwriting and storytelling style in their sound, releasing songs that resonate deeply with Filipino listeners in the spirit of yearning.
Ahead of the track’s official release, the band performed it for the first time at the media and single launch held on April 11 at 12 Monkeys Music Hall in Pasig.
This release marks their first solo release as a band. Earlier this year, they collaborated with the American indie-pop duo Fly By Midnight on a new rendition of “The Weather.” They also teamed up with Angela Ken for the single “Moved On Last,” as well as released a wedding version of their romantic 2023 single, “Ating Dalawa.”
