ORCA have returned with brand new single, entitled “OAD”. Released on May 2, 2025 (Friday), the Filipino progressive metalcore band initially announced the independently produced track last April 21, 2025 through a short video on their social media.
In a press statement, the Awit Award-nominated metal group describes the new song as “a brutally honest anthem of resilience” and is them “at their most unfiltered,” making “a powerful statement on reclaiming strength, identity, and purpose after being dragged through hardships.” “It’s for the underdogs who didn’t just survive, but thrived both through and from adversity,” stated the quartet, who note that the song also “marks a new chapter in the band’s evolution, both musically and thematically.”
Serving as the band’s first release of 2025, “OAD is also set to have an accompanying music video, directed by the band’s frontman Zoren Fernandez, alongside KNYA Collective’s AC Laurente who also serves as the director of photography and editor.
