P-pop boy group New:ID have officially terminated their exclusive contract with MLD Entertainment, effective August 1, 2026.
In a joint statement shared on social media, both the group and the agency confirmed that they had mutually agreed to part ways after careful discussion and consideration.
Parting on good terms, MLD Entertainment expressed its gratitude to New:ID, saying, “We sincerely thank the members of New:ID for the previous time we have shared together as well as for their hard work, dedication, and sincere efforts throughout their activities. We are truly grateful for all the memories and meaningful moments created together.”
Meanwhile, the boy group addressed an emotional message to their fans, NewDAYs, sharing that their supporters were at the forefront of their minds throughout the difficult decision.
“We know this news probably came as a shock, and we’re really sorry that it had to be this way. This wasn’t an easy decision. We spent a long time thinking about it because we knew this wasn’t just our story. It was yours too,” the five-member act wrote.
The announcement arrives just days after the group quietly marked their second debut anniversary on July 25. Reflecting on the milestone, the members shared, “We always imagined celebrating another year with you, thanking you in person, and making more memories together. We never thought that, just a few days later, we’d be writing a letter like this instead. Still, we’re grateful that our anniversary gave us another reason to look back and realize how lucky we’ve been to spend these past two years with you.”
Despite the end of their partnership with MLD Entertainment, the P-pop boy group reassures fans that this is not the end of their journey together. “But we don’t really like saying goodbye, so let’s just call it a ‘see you later.’ Until then, we’ll keep moving forward, and we hope you’ll continue walking beside us, wherever life takes us. After all, every new chapter has to begin somewhere… sometimes, it begins on day one.”
Composed of members Wilson, Macky, L, Thad, and Jom, New:ID debuted on July 25, 2024, with EP NEW EGO, following the release of their prologue singles “E.R” and “Deja vu” in 2023.
