NCT‘s Jaehyun has dropped his first full-length solo album, J.

This debut album has been years in the making for Jaehyun, following the release of several singles released intermittently throughout the years since his first solo single in 2017. With the release of J, the 27-year-old K-pop icon is finally able to showcase several aspects of himself in the album’s eight tracks— ranging from his confident and charismatic self that his fans have become fond of, to his more vulnerable sides that have been largely untapped by audiences.

J features the previously released singles, “Roses” and “Dandelion,” as well as the album’s lead single, “Smoke.” To coincide with the record’s release, a music video for “Smoke” was also dropped, which features Jaehyun showcasing his applaudable acting chops in a stylized set of visuals that fit perfectly with the track. The release of J marks Jaehyun as the fourth member of NCT to make his official solo debut, after Taeyong, Doyoung, and Ten. Both Doyoung and Ten released their debut solo projects earlier this year, with Doyoung releasing his first studio album Youth and Ten releasing an eponymous EP.

Just recently, Jaehyun together with his NCT 127 members released their latest comeback, WALK, which marks their sixth album as a unit. The album dropped earlier this July and features the hit title track “WALK” alongside “Can’t Help Myself” and “Meaning of Love.”
