Miley Cyrus has just announced her ninth studio album, titled Something Beautiful.
The news was shared via Columbia Records and Cyrus’ official social media platforms, stating the record’s forthcoming release date of May 30, 2025, across various physical, streaming, and digital platforms. The album is set to feature thirteen original tracks, featuring executive production from Shawn Everett and Cyrus herself. Alongside the announcement, the album’s cover artwork was also revealed –– featuring the pop star draped in a gorgeous piece of archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture photographed by renowned fashion photographer Glen Luchford.

In her cover story with Harper’s Bazaar last November 2024, the 32-year-old musician previously mentioned that the upcoming album would serve as a visual album and how it “takes inspiration from Pink Floyd’s The Wall— just with a “better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture.” “The visual component of [my album] is driving the sound. It was important for me that every song has these healing sound properties. The songs, whether they’re about destruction or heartbreak or death, they’re presented in a way that is beautiful, because the nastiest times of our life do have a point of beauty,” Cyrus mentioned.
Cyrus’ Something Beautiful is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2023’s Endless Summer Vacation, which spawned the chart-topping hit single “Flowers.” The album was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, whilst “Flowers” won Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. Just earlier this year, Cyrus was also awarded another Grammy for her work and guest feature on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, winning Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II MOST WANTED.”
Teasers for Cyrus’ upcoming album first popped up across several streets in New York City, featuring a shadowy version of the album’s cover artwork, alongside the album’s title and Cyrus’ official website just a week prior to its official announcement. Pre-orders for the record are also now available, with exclusive vinyl and CD variants (both signed and unsigned) available here.
