Carey’s The Celebration of Mimi tour commemorates the tenth anniversary of the pop icon’s tenth studio album, The Emancipation of Mimi. The album went on to become one of her best-selling albums (and is even considered one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century with over 10 million sales), and spawned the hit singles “We Belong Together,” “Shake It Off,” and “It’s Like That.”
Just recently, Carey released her latest single “Portrait” last May, and was featured in a special collaboration remix of Ariana Grande‘s chart-topping single “yes, and?” She last performed in the Philippines in 2018 for Mariah Carey: Live in Manila, which was staged at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. The show was sold out in a near instant, showcasing Carey’s impressive hold and resonance over Philippine audiences of all ages.
Concert producers Wilbros Live have announced that the highly-anticipated concert is set to take place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, though ticket prices and further details have yet to be announced.
