Manila Grey are back with new music.

On August 19, the Canadian-Filipino hip-hop/R&B duo independently released their latest single, entitled “Worlds Apart.” It follows their single “Meant 2 Be” and its remixes, released last February 7 and March 19, respectively.

In a press statement, “Worlds Apart” is described as “a pop-sounding club track” that harnesses the “classic” sound of Manila Grey while adding in new soundscapes never explored by the duo. It tackles themes of “confidence and vulnerability” as it poses “relatable questions and thoughts to a significant other while also trying to navigate the turbulent lifestyle of being artists.”

The release of the new track “marks the start of an era for the duo” as they set their sights on holding “independent tours throughout the world over the coming year,” which they plan to begin in the Philippines this coming October.

Formed in 2016, Manila Grey consist of rapper GhostrideNeeko and singer Soliven. They are most significantly recognized for being nominated for Breakthrough Group of The Year at the 2021 iteration of Canada’s prestigious Juno Awards. They have consistently performed in the Philippines over the years, most notably having been part of the first Manila iteration of 88rising’s Head In The Clouds in December 2022.

They are best known for such hits as “Silver Skies,” “Turbo,” “Shibuya,” “Timezones,” and more. Their latest album, Sound Drift, was released last April 13, 2023.
