M1ss Jade So, Manila’s own doll dominatrix and esoteric drag queen superstar, is back with her new single, “GODDESSA,” released through Offshore Music.
Produced by Naive Supreme, the track offers a look into her journey through self-love and transformation, with the lyrics inspired by affirmations she chanted for herself, according to her social media post to fans and followers.
“This song existed inside me long before people got to hear it,” she notes. “Releasing it feels like finally opening a portal I have been building for years.”
Dubbed with her era of GODDESSAFICATION, which she coined for this spiritual and mortal shift, the track acts as a sonic manifestation with its electronic synths and heavy bass, along with ethereal textures produced by Naive Supreme.
“It’s like a rave happening inside a temple,” M1ss Jade So shares. “I wanted something that drag queens could perform to, but also something you’d hear at 3:00 AM when everyone’s sweaty, emotional, and completely surrendered to the music.”
The release of “GODDESSA” is about her choosing herself again and her determination to continue her journey through artistic expression. “I’ve spent so much of my career expressing myself through drag, but music lets people hear what’s happening inside my head and heart in an entirely different way,” she says.
Additionally, she hopes the energy the song evokes is the feeling of being reborn and even possessed.
