On June 22, 2025, Filipino rap icon Loonie released his latest single entitled “Gugmang Preso,” marking his first track written completely in Bisaya. The song serves as a Bisaya counterpart to his existing and well-celebrated piece written in Tagalog, “Tugmang Preso.” In addition to the song’s release, its official music video was debuted on Loonie’s official YouTube channel.

In a comment written by the “Tao Lang” hitmaker under the music video, he shared, “Una kong Bisaya track. Shoutout sa tanang nakasabot diha! Paglangas!” (My first Bisaya track. Shoutout to everyone who understands [Bisaya] out there! Much love!)
This follows the rapper’s recent collaborative work with the local R&B hitmaker Dionela on the track “Ikigai,” which was released on May 20, 2025.
In related news, earlier this year, the celebrated local hip-hop artist recently took home the Wishclusive Hip-hop Performance of the Year Award for his performance of “Tugmang Preso” during the 10th iteration of the Wish Music Awards. Prior to “Ikigai,” his most recent musical release dates back to June 9, 2024 with his collaborative piece with fellow hip-hop artists like Ron Henley, Apekz, and Dank Puffs — a remastered version of “KUSH.”
