Last March 5, it has been announced that the critically acclaimed indie band Japanese Breakfast will be holding satellite launch parties for their upcoming album, For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women), across the globe.

Several of these parties will take place in various cities across Metro Manila, hosted by local record stores, prior to the album’s global launch this coming March 21. Details on the schedules of these listening parties have yet to be released; watch this space for updates.

Check out the list of the Manila activations below:

  • Acetate Music, Makati City
  • Asian Gosling, Marikina City
  • Good Vibrations Records, Quezon City

In an exclusive statement shared with Billboard Philippines, Acetate Music expressed their excitement towards the event, “Being big fans of Japanese Breakfast, it’s an immense honor to partner up with her label, Dead Oceans, to host these local activations in celebration of her upcoming album. Listening parties themselves are a great way of bringing people together for their shared love of music — and there is no better artist than Japanese Breakfast to celebrate in a communal setting.”

This follows the artist’s two pre-release singles that were debuted earlier this year, “Orlando in Love” and “Mega Circuit.” The group’s latest album prior to this was the multi-nominated Jubilee back in 2021, that continues to be one of the band’s best celebrated pieces of work to date.

In anticipation for For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women), listen to “Mega Circuit” and “Orlando in Love” here:
