Laufey has just released her latest full-length album, titled A Matter Of Time.

The beloved Icelandic-Chinese musician’s latest record was released across multiple streaming, digital, and physical services just today, and showcases her at her most confessional to date. “I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude and joy right now, so I’ll keep it short until tomorrow….this album has every bit of me in it, from the beautiful to the messy, an honest portrait of myself. I hope you love this album as much as I do,” shared Laufey on her official Instagram page.

The album features a total of fourteen tracks, including the previously released singles “Silver Lining”, “Tough Luck”, “Lover Girl”, and “Snow White”, with the vinyl format also including a bonus 7″ disc that includes the fifteenth track, a cover of “Seems Like A Old Times” originally performed by Carmen Lombardo and John Jacob Loeb. Additionally, folk-pop artist Clairo contributes some background vocals on the track, “Mr. Eclectic.”

The album was first announced through the jazz-pop phenomenon’s official social media platforms, wherein she shared the album’s cover artwork alongside details of its release date for August 22, 2025. “I’ve taken my diary and turned it into an album of songs, delving into the whole range of emotions – from the beautiful to the ugly – that one experiences as life and love unfold in time,” mentioned Laufey in the post’s caption.

A Matter of Time marks the highly anticipated follow-up to Laufey’s Grammy-winning sophomore record, Bewitched. Bewitched not only sparked a hit single with “From The Start,” but spawned a deluxe reissue titled Bewitched: The Goddess Edition, which included four bonus tracks, such as a cover of the popular jazz standard “It Could Happen To You,” and what could be considered as Laufey’s most vulnerable track, “Goddess.”

In her exclusive interview with Billboard Philippines last year, Laufey teased what direction she intended to head following the release of Bewitched: The Goddess Edition, stating, “With each of my records, I like to think of them as if they’re unique chapters of a book. You can literally hear me grow as a woman with my songwriting from Typical of Me to Bewitched.”

“There’s really only been like a three-year window between those two, so I’m looking forward to where life takes me from there. I’m [definitely] excited to see where it goes as I grow older. To see how my thoughts will grow, and how I’ll be able to evolve both my sound and my style of writing. Because who knows what life I’ll be living?” she pondered.
