Over the weekend (November 14, 2025), Cebu-based indie act Kubra Commander (also known as Bobbi Olvido) debuted his latest single, “Life on the Moon,” an emotive indie rock piece with hints of post-Britpop (i.e. early Coldplay and the like) influence. It has been noted that the song is the latest pre-release single building up to Kubra Commander’s third album Metabolic, which is set to be released digitally on all streaming platforms on December 5, 2025 by Lilystars Records.
Detailing his experience behind the production of the track, Olvido shares his experience working on the piece in an official press release: “It was one of the first few songs written for the new album, and it was the most challenging to produce for me and Jeremy Rigodon. But I’m glad with how it turned out.”
He adds, “The musician friends I onboarded to record on the track were able to help fulfill the vision for the song. It’s also a huge tick off my personal bucket list to be able to incorporate my post-Britpop influences into the track.”
This is Kubra Commander’s sixth single release of the year, his latest prior being “Magnafanta,” which was debuted last October 10.
