Kjwan have returned with a new single entitled “MSK” — their first release of 2025. The new song from the Filipino rock band, whose title stands for “Mula Sa Katahimikan” (“From Silence”), was released on April 20, 2025 (Sunday). It is notable for its progressive, guitar-driven instrumentation backed by string elements, as well as its introspective lyrics focusing on life experiences and enlightenment.
The brand new single was produced, mixed, and mastered by Joey Santos at Love One Another Studio, with additional recording by Angelo Rozul. In addition, the string arrangements were provided by Hale’s violinist Chino David.
“MSK” serves as the follow-up to Kjwan’s first two releases since their current lineup — composed of vocalist Marc Abaya, bassist Kelley Mangahas, drummer Eo Marcos, and new guitarist Louis Isok — was officially formed. These two releases were “Dahas” (the band’s first single since 2016’s “HyperConnected”), which was released on April 26, 2024, and “Sa Huli,” which came out on October 18, 2024.
In other news, Kjwan are set to embark on a bar tour in support of “MSK” starting this April 26 (Saturday) at 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub in Pasig City, featuring back-to-back performances with fellow veteran rock band Razorback. Tickets to the show are priced at PHP 700. Find out how to get them here.
