Kitchie Nadal is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her eponymous album this 2024.
The celebrated rock icon will be reissuing her debut studio album on vinyl for its 20th anniversary in partnership with Backspacer Records, with the record being made on a special colorway of opaque green and black split-color vinyl. Though the specific amount of copies pressed is currently unknown, this special release has been marked as a limited edition release –– which means it won’t last too long if you find yourself wanting a copy.
This reissue marks the second pressing of the landmark rock album on vinyl, following its first release in the analog format back in January 2022. The first edition featured an alternative album artwork designed by Nadal and Aidon Panlaqui and was limited to only 500 hand-numbered copies on black vinyl. Both editions of the record have been remastered for vinyl by Shinji Tanaka at Kodama Studio, so fans can expect the same audio quality from both analog formats.
Kitchie Nadal’s self-titled record was released back in October 2004, and featured the hit singles “Huwag na Huwag Mong Sasabihin“, “Run“, and “Bulong“. The album was released to both critical and commercial acclaim during its time of release and has been recognized as one of the best-selling albums in the entire country, having sold over 214,800 units in the country. To date, it has also been certified 7× Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI).
This special 20th-anniversary vinyl reissue is expected to be released this March 2024, but fans can secure themselves a copy of the record by pre-ordering a copy here.
