Kendrick Lamar is set to take the stage for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The multi-Grammy award winner was announced by NFL, Roc Nation, and Apple Music as the headliner of the Super Bowl LIX halftime show, which is scheduled to take place next February 9, 2024, in New Orleans, Louisiana. “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why,” Lamar said in a statement. “They got the right one,” he proclaimed

Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation co-produces the halftime show, added in a statement, “Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

“Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar,” said NFL head of music Seth Dudowsky. “Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop.”

Aside from being a performer of the halftime show, Lamar will also serve as a creative director for his Super Bowl halftime performance alongside Dave Free’s pgLang. This performance also marks his second time performing on the Super Bowl stage in four years, following his guest performance at Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J Blige’s halftime performance at the Super Bowl LVI last February 13, 2022.

Just recently, Lamar released a music video to his chart-topping hit “Not Like Us” –– which sees the rapper taking a victory lap around his hometown of Compton, paying homage to the West Coast while taking subtle jabs at Drake and his OVO crew. “Not Like Us” serves as the ninth entry in the list of tracks released from the widely publicized feud, with its brand new video serving as both a celebration of Lamar’s success and a playful jab at his rival — solidifying his position as the leading figure of this feud so far.
