Global girl group KATSEYE are nominated alongside Laufey, sombr, Alex Warren, and Ravyn Lenae in the Breakthrough Artist of the Year category at the inaugural TikTok Awards 2025. The ceremony is set to take place on December 18 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
Under the theme “New Era, New Icons,” the show will feature live performances and appearances from some of TikTok’s most influential creators. The awards are fan-driven, with members of the TikTok community having the chance to vote for their favorites via the app between November 18 and December 2.
KATSEYE have built a massive following on the platform, boasting over 14 million followers and 696 million likes. Users have used their track “Gnarly” as a sound in over 240,000 videos and remain popular for short-form content. Laufey, on the other hand, has grown to over 10 million followers and over 381 million likes.
sombr has been very active on the platform, posting videos of himself, and has gained over 4.3 million followers and 158 million likes. His hit “back to friends” is close to being used in 1 million videos, with the sound currently featured in around 900,000.
The TikTok US Awards 2025 will be broadcast live on TikTok and streamed via Tubi on December 19, 10:00 AM (PH Time). The ceremony will feature a live audience made up of creators.
In addition to Breakthrough Artist of the Year, categories include Creator of the Year, Video of the Year, Storyteller of the Year, My Show is On Award (film and TV), Okay Slay Award (fashion/beauty), MVP of the Year (sports), and TikTok Live Creator of the Year, among others.
