KATSEYE have just made their latest comeback with the brand new single, “PINKY UP.“
On “PINKY UP”, the global girl group continues to delve deeper within the hyper-pop genre, experimenting with maximalist sounds, novel production elements, and lyrics that infuse Socrates’ philosophical teachings. Produced by dwilly, “hitman” bang, and Frants, the track delves into themes of self-empowerment, retaining a sense of unapologetic confidence while still keeping it classy and equally rebellious.
Together with the release of the track on digital platforms, KATSEYE also dropped a vibrant music video that captures the very spirit of the track directed by Bardia Zeinali, with creative direction by Humberto Leon. Check it out in its entirety below:
“PINKY UP” is set to make its live debut this weekend at the forthcoming Coachella Arts & Music Festival 2026 at the Indio Valley in California, marking KATSEYE’s debut performance at the prestigious music festival. Though the track doesn’t feature fan-favorite member Manon Bannerman (who is currently on hiatus from the group), the group opened up about her absence in an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music. Leader Sophia Laforteza assured Lowe and the live fans tuning in that Manon is “doing well,” and that she is “rooting for all of us.”
“You know, we’ve gone through so much with each other. At the end of the day, we just all want each other to win. And to be good. And to feel good and to be happy and just, you know, just keep showing up for what we want,” Sophia continued. Fellow KATSEYE member Lara Raj also stated, “She’s our sister forever. Like we love her so much and we built this together. So we just want to give her all the space and love she needs right now.”
“PINKY UP” is also the group’s latest release since the surprise single “Internet Girl,” which dropped on streaming and digital services earlier this January 2, 2026. The latter debuted at No. 37 on the Philippines Hot 100 and at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 upon its release. It was preceded by the group’s second EP, BEAUTIFUL CHAOS, which spawned the hit singles “Gnarly,” “Gabriela,” and “Gameboy” — all of which debuted on the Philippines Hot 100 chart, showcasing the group’s immense hold over Philippine audiences.
Most recently, the group was also nominated at the 2026 Grammy Awards for two awards, including Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Gabriela.”
