Joji has dropped his fourth studio album, Piss in the Wind, via Palace Creek — his first release after departing from his former label 88rising.

The album comprises 21 tracks and features the lead single “PIXELATED KISSES,” followed by the singles “Past Won’t Leave My Bed,” “If It Only Gets Better,” “Love You Less,” and “Last of a Dying Breed.”

“PIXELATED KISSES” marked a return to his R&B and trip-hop sound. It was his first release in three years, following his third studio album, Smithereens, in 2022. The “SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK” singer went on hiatus for quite a while during the final months of 2023, following the backend of his ‘Pandemonium World Tour.’

The track was accompanied by a music video directed by James Mao. Set in a strip club, the video harks back to 2018 with the music video for “YEAH RIGHT” from his debut album, BALLADS 1. Written by Joji and John Durham and produced by Wonton, the track brings back the singer’s lo-fi roots and blends acoustic guitar with syncopated bass.

As part of the album rollout, Joji taps model/actor and look-alike Robert Birdsall, who “acts” as himself in interviews, music videos, and press releases.
