Folk singer-songwriter Johnoy Danao will be premiering the first-ever vinyl pressing of his debut solo album, Dapithapon (Twilight).
The event will be held on March 16 at the Minsan Studio in 3F, 48 Malingap St., Sikatuna Village in Quezon City. The vinyl costs P2,600 and includes a free admission ticket to the launch. Limited tickets were available for admission, however they are currently sold out. The vinyl and free admission ticket can be availed via Backspacer Records.
Danao revealed that his set will include a special string quartet, as well as a performance by the band, Magiliw Street. The launch will start at 7PM. Last year, Danao made his debut on Billboard Philippines Soundwave, which premieres every Monday on TikTok. He performed his hit single, “Ikaw At Ako” (You And I). Check out the episode here.
Dapithapon was originally released in 2010, and features some of his most popular songs like “Ikaw At Ako” and the title track. He recently premiered his first live album, Johnoy Danao Live, in November of last year. Since 2010, he also released Samu’t Sari (roughly translated as This And That) in 2014, Salubungan (Welcome) in 2016 (with a duet version of “Right Time” featuring fellow Soundwave alum Clara Benin), and more.
He has also recently embarked on a nationwide cafe tour, where Danao plays a full acoustic sets in various parts in the country. He has had stops in Metro Manila as well as Cebu, Baguio, Cavite, and more.
